Edward (Ted) Whitmell is currently looking for employment in the high tech sector.
For over four years he has worked as a technical support specialist, solving users’ network and Internet problems. Sadly, that job came to an end when the company he worked for decided to send his job to India. He can’t really complain too much about that, since his job originally existed because an American company outsourced the job to Canada.
Now, Ted is spending his time watching job boards, sending out resumes, and upgrading his skills. He is sharpening his programming skills by coding video games using Microsoft’s XNA framework and C#. He’s also a pretty good Java programmer, web designer, and mas mean Photoshop skills. He is saving money to take his Network+ and Security+ examinations and hopes to have those certifications soon. With luck and some funding from the Ontario Government, he may get some Cisco and Microsoft certifications under his belt, too.
Before and during his University career (in which he received his Bachelor’s degree in English) Ted built a reputation as an accomplished educator and presenter, and he and his wife started a small business called CanaDIANA UnlimiTED, under which they host by appointment only workshops for adults and children alike on environmental topics and issues.
Ted harbours dreams of designing and creating games of all sorts, writing novels, and building a solar-powered, sustainable home.
He lives in Ottawa, Ontario with his wife, Diana, and some sneaky pet rabbits.
